Understanding Letter Types

If you did not resolve the matter to your satisfaction with the Series 100 letter - send a Series 200 letter.   This one responds to the credit bureau's lack of response, or claim that the information is accurate. see Series 200, 2nd letter

The Series 300 letters are to be used if you still are having difficulty with the credit bureau over a dispute. This letter is more firm, and announces your intention to contact the Federal Trade Commission to register a formal complaint. see Series 300, 3rd Letter

The Series 400 letters are sent to the Credit Bureaus to request the method that they used to verify the information. see Series 400 Letter

Use a Series 500 letter to open a dispute with a creditor directly. see Series 500 Letter

Use the 600 Series letters to send a letter of corrected information from a creditor to the credit bureaus. see Series 600 Letter

Use a Series 700 letter to deal with Collection Agents. see Series 700 Letter

Use the Series 800 letter to make an offer to a creditor to settle an account.   see Series 800 Letter
