Take a moment to get familiar with the different types of disputes. There are three basic types of disputes:
-
A dispute with one or all three of the Credit Bureaus. This type is used if you are questioning the accuracy of information on your credit report.
-
A dispute directly with a Creditor. This type of dispute involves you and the creditor, where the creditor is reporting inaccurate information, or claims that you owe money.
-
The third type of dispute is for dealing with a Collection Agency that is attempting to collect a debt that you do not owe.
