Step 2 - Order Credit Report

 

Now that you've added yourself as a New User - the next step is to order your credit report.   You have several options when it comes to getting your credit report.   Click on Step 2 to explore your options.

 

You have the option of:

1.         Entering the data from a current credit report that you already have or,

2.         Subscribing to one of the services that are offered in the software through the Credit Wizard, then entering your information, see (Using the Credit Wizard) or,

3.         Ordering your free annual credit report at Free Annual Credit Report - then entering the information.

 

Whichever type of report you select, make sure that it is a report that contains information from ALL THREE bureaus.   Sometimes these are called tri-merged, or triple-merged reports.   If you only order a single report, you won't see what is contained in the other two credit bureau files, and your efforts will only be 33% as effective.   You should also order a report that includes credit scores from the three bureaus.   This way you can track your progress more effectively. If you already have a tri-merged report but do not have the scores, you can order just the scores from any of the three bureaus for a small one-time fee.

 

You may want to consider joining any of the services offered by the three bureaus.   These services allow you to check your credit as many times as you wish without charging for each report.   Monthly fees for this vary and are usually cancelable at any time.   But because you'll want to track your progress monthly - you'll probably save money by joining.
